3west collection

7 products Kibera – Soweto West Since Apr 2026

3West Collection is a Kibera-born streetwear brand built on a story of transformation. Founded by young people who chose a new path, we design bold, high-quality T-shirts, hoodies, jerseys and caps inspired by African culture, Jamaican vibes and street life — and we proudly accept Bitcoin over the Lightning Network. Wear the culture. Live the movement. Stay Fully Wested.

Our Story

The name 3West was born from the streets, and it represents a journey of transformation, unity and hope. It was created by a group of young people who made the courageous decision to leave behind lives of crime, drug abuse and other negative influences to build a better future. For us, 3West is more than a name — it is a symbol of a fresh start. It reflects the power of change, the strength found in unity, and the belief that every person deserves a second chance. 3West Collection began on the streets as more than just a business idea. It was a turning point: a conscious decision to step away from crime and negative influences and instead build something positive, meaningful and sustainable. I started this business about three years ago with very little — beginning with the sale of mitumba (second-hand) clothes. At first it was a small hustle, but through consistency, determination and hard work, it slowly began to grow. I kept adding more clothes and different products, learning the business along the way, until I was able to open my own shop and expand beyond mitumba into my own merchandise, building an identity around the name 3West Collection. Today 3West Collection mainly serves ordinary people within the community — especially young people and those from the streets where the journey began. What started as a small hustle has become a source of income, purpose and motivation. It has shown me and others that change is possible: that you can come from difficult circumstances, make the decision to change, and slowly build something meaningful through honest work. But 3West Collection is not only about selling clothes. It is a journey. It represents the struggles we have faced, the mistakes we have made, the lessons we have learned, and the decision to keep moving forward. I want 3West to stand for determination, transformation, unity and hope — and to remind young people that where they come from does not have to determine where they are going. There is always an opportunity to choose a different path, learn a new skill, and build a better future. Looking ahead, the vision for 3West Collection goes beyond clothes and towards original designs that carry a message of resilience, unity and hope. Each piece — T-shirts, hoodies, caps — can become a canvas telling part of our journey: the struggles of street life, the choice to change, and the creativity that transforms those experiences into art you can wear. My goal is for 3West Collection to grow into a recognisable lifestyle brand that represents authentic stories and gives young people who have creativity but lack opportunity a platform. In the coming years, I hope to collaborate with local artists and designers, create original collections, and reach customers beyond our streets — even beyond our city. My Bitcoin journey began in January 2025, when I was introduced to Bitcoin through the Afribit Foundation by Mr. Ronney, the co-founder of Afribit. At the time, Bitcoin was still a new and challenging concept to me. I had heard people talk about it, but I did not fully understand what it was, how it worked, or how it could be used in everyday life. My first step was joining the Bitcoin classes offered through Afribit here in Kibera. The classes gave me a chance to learn in a practical way and, more importantly, to ask questions and interact with other people who were also learning about and using Bitcoin. Slowly, I began to understand wallets, sending and receiving Bitcoin, transactions, the blockchain, and the importance of taking responsibility for my own funds. The more I learned, the more interested I became. I realised that Bitcoin was not only something people traded for profit — it could also be used as a form of payment and as a way of transferring value between people without depending entirely on traditional financial institutions. That understanding encouraged me to become a Bitcoin merchant. I started accepting Bitcoin in exchange for goods, especially because I am part of a Bitcoin community where many people already understand and use BTC. Instead of Bitcoin remaining something I only studied in a classroom, it became something I could use in my everyday business. There are several reasons Bitcoin has become important to me. It gives me greater control over my money — I can hold and manage my funds directly, which for me represents both financial independence and responsibility. It allows fast, direct payments between people, so I can accept payment straight from customers who already use BTC. Its underlying network uses cryptography and a decentralised blockchain to secure transactions, though I have also learned that security depends heavily on the user, which taught me that with financial freedom comes financial responsibility. And it has opened my eyes to a completely new financial system and to how technology can create new opportunities for ordinary people. My journey has taught me that learning something new takes patience, and that Bitcoin is more than just its price — it can be a payment network and a tool for education and financial experimentation. What started as a challenging concept in January 2025 has become an important learning journey. Through the Afribit Foundation, the classes in Kibera, the guidance I received, and my experience as a merchant, I have gone from simply hearing about Bitcoin to actually using it in my daily life. For me, Bitcoin represents learning, control, responsibility, innovation, and the possibility of creating new opportunities through technology — and my journey is still continuing. This is our story: where we have come from, what we have overcome, and where we are heading. Every purchase from 3West Collection supports young people choosing a better path — and you can pay in Bitcoin over the Lightning Network, fast and low-fee, straight from your phone.
