Each tote is made from carefully selected upcycled fabric, giving new life to old clothes while creating something practical, stylish, and truly one of a kind. Because the fabrics and handmade construction vary from piece to piece, no two totes will ever be exactly alike. Yours is an original piece with its own story—not a mass-produced accessory—and will likely become a collector's item. This tote pairs a clean, sturdy indigo denim body with a pair of vibrant African-print shoulder straps—playful red, yellow, and teal motifs set against a soft grey ground. The Afribit Upcycling Queens began with volunteer training and only two sewing machines. Today the group works from a shared production space with five sewing machines, where ten women and girls sew in morning and afternoon teams—an arrangement that lets members who are still in school take part. Together they produce around ten bags a day, learning skills, earning from sales, and building savings for the future. Early orders came from the Nairobi Bitcoin Conference, and interest continues to grow through Instagram, X, and Nostr.
